Primary school was great..I go to school everyday very happy because I was going to meet my friends and for the many plays we'll have during break, not because I was going to learn something but I could remember I never liked arithmetic. That was my greatest fear and enemy then.
I could remember vividly my first day in primary school (African Church Primary School,Alagbado Lagos). There was no chair to sit on, all that we had was the bare floor or at the mercy of the transparent nylon which we spread on the floor to sit on. My Grandma held me by the hand and straight to the Principal's Office where we were handed over to a Class teacher Mrs Oloko who conducted a test and at the end of the day decided the result of the test was too good for primary one.
I started Primary two and I was all happy I was going to always have a place to go every morning. Of course all I went before then was the '2 naira Lesson' arranged by 'Iya Shile' where she always has to go from house to house picking children for the lesson. It was otherwise called 'Je'le O sinmi' (This implies that the moment Children leaves the house, the house knows peace).
It does not matter where you started from, you'll surely get to your destination of greatness. Stardom is not achieved overnight. It comes step-by-step. You might be rejected now because you don't seem very big or influential, yeah many will reject you or even refuse to give you jobs because they feel you won't be able to handle it or you don't have a 'big' name yet. It is just a step away, you will get there!
