According to a very reliable source on BBM, The Child Marriage protest in Akure has taken another turn as the protesters are been threatened and a Photojournalist, Yomi Adefolalu had his camera smashed by the protesters.
The protest took place at The Adegbemile Cultural Centre, Akure over Senator Ayo Akinyelure's support of 'Child Marriage' in the Senate.
This created a rowdy scene as protesters clash with senator's supporters at Adegbemile Hall and guess what, a D.P.O threatened the protesters saying "I'll smoke this place with teargas"
How the Protest Started since Saturday:
Following the adoption by the Senate, of the controversial child bride, aggrieved citizens have planned to stage protests in different states today.Some of the states include; Lagos, Abuja, Ondo, Port Harcourt, Kaduna and Ogun States, amongst others.
The protest was designed to get people to sign a petition, with the estimate of two million people, that would be submitted to the State Houses of Assembly, chronicling the grouses of the aggrieved persons on the proposed law which many have termed as bad.
